FROM MEDIEVAL FORTRESSES TO ALBA CAROLINA | One-day trip<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In chronological order, the excursion will take us through time, from a citadel built on a volcanic cone, to one of the most important Gothic monuments in Romania, and all the way to a fortress defending the Habsburg Empire.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The first stop will take us back 760 years, to the moment when the Citadel of Deva<\/span><\/strong> was built. We will climb the volcanic cone that shelters the citadel, from where we can enjoy an impressive panorama of the city of Deva, the gateway to Transylvania on the Mure\u0219 Valley.<\/p>

A short 15-minute drive will then take us to one of the most important Gothic architectural monuments in Romania: the Corvin Castle<\/strong><\/span>. Built starting in 1440, the castle will immerse us in a fairy-tale world as well as one of the cruelties of the Middle Ages.<\/p>

The last stop will be at Alba Carolina Citadel<\/strong><\/span>, in the city of Alba Iulia. Built starting in 1815, with the purpose of defending the border of the Habsburg Empire against the Ottoman Empire, the citadel will be presented to us in a unique way by a local guide \u2013 a Maltese knight who holds the most impressive stories of the citadel.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Departure on the day-trip is made either from Arad or from Timi\u0219oara, depending on the option you choose. Because we support alternative, quality tourism that emphasizes the experience of each individual tourist and leaves as small a footprint as possible on the places they walk through, places are limited. Our trips are done in small groups, traveling by \"small car\". Therefore, the maximum number of people is 3.
